Data show that the first quarter in 2010, "the net imports "of Chinese stainless steel sheet declined drastically over the same period of the previous years ,reaching 55.46%. In the first quarter, the net imports of stainless steel sheet in China is 33,499 tons, compared to 75,216 tons in 2009.
But look at the specific months, most recently in March, the net imports increased significantly, the net imports is 18,526 tons in the same month, compare with February the rate of increase reached 162.67%.
Compared with last year, it can be seen the net imports in the first quarter is in the substantial decrease area, however, the net imports of the single month in March is in a substantial uplift of central and occupied the 55.30% of net imports in the first quarter. This shows that the net imports of Chinese stainless steel sheet is still likely to continue to increase in the future. For the current production capacity of the domestic market of stainless steel and the actual stock position of high spot market, in the first quarter of optimism might be only temporary. |
