Russia raised import tariffs on Chinese Stainless steel |
The Russian government is considering raising import tariffs on Stainless steel coils. 840 euros per ton is carried out in 2004,now rose to 1200 ---1300 euros, so as to promote the increase production of domestic manufacturers.
During 2005 and early 2006 Russian stainless steel production dropped drastically due to the influx of European low-cost products successively.
Related officials said the new import tariff will apply to the Chinese, as Chinese stainless steel coils are increasing, the Chinese suppliers may become a dominant force in the Russian market. |
